This past Sunday, I organized and hosted a family heritage day. What is that? Well, it can be whatever you want it to be. For me, it was day to get the women of my family (my dad's side) together and talk, eat, and bake. We mostly talked and ate. My Grandma who is almost 90 is Norwegian. Growing up, she made krukake every year (mostly for Christmas), and gave us Norwegian lessons. I still remember bestamor is Grandma. So, I decided that I wanted to honor her and our heritage. We had lefse for lunch along with some regular food- no lutefisk though. Then, we set out to bake. We made krumkake, rosettes, and cardamom coffeecake. It was so much fun. So, what is your heritage and what traditions do you do or could start?

I didn't have a picture of my Grandma from the other day, but here she is about 4 months ago after Simon was born. Doesn't she look great? She still gets around better than most people have her age.
