Simon turned 1 last Saturday. We actually had his party the weekend before when my sister and new brother-in-law were in town for their wedding reception. So, I know I am a little slow at posting this. However, I'll say it was because I wanted to wait until we went to the Dr yesterday so I could also put up his stats (sure that is why).
Anyway, here is a photo with the big boy eating his cupcake.
We did a truck/construction type theme. I found the idea for it on pinterest. Side note: have you checked it out yet? I love it!
Here is the decor and the cake I made
And here is the spoiled birthday boy opening his gifts (with the help of his sister and cousins).
I know every parent says how quickly time goes, but this last year really did seem to fly by. Simon, you are not a baby anymore. We have had so much fun watching you learn new things. You have a great big sister who loves you so much and is really enjoying finally getting to "play" with you. Can't wait to see what this next year has in store.
Simon's stats
Height- 31in (88%)- takes after his Daddy
Weight- 21lb 10oz (only 30%)- has always been less than 50 and Dr. is not concerned. Still surprising though because when you look at him, he looks like he would be more since he has rolls and chub!
At 1 year he is saying Momma and Dadda- starting to mimic sounds like uh oh. He doesn't seem to be that interested in walking or standing on his own yet. He has balanced for a second or two but then drops to his butt. A couple times I have gotten him to leap at me but no steps. He loves to "play drums" and goes for anything with wheels. He is still the happiest kid I know. I love his huge smile and giggles. Simon is a great eater with the exception of bananas. He likes to play piano, "pet" Shelby, and is constantly trying to go up (or down) the stairs. He is keeping us busy, but we love, love, love him!
Happy Birthday Simon
