Ok, on to something else. As I said, I am 30 weeks now. I am going about every 2 weeks for appointments. I had an ultrasound last week because at my 20 week U/S, they thought the placenta may be a little low. However, that looked great, so no need for a C-section (which if I had placenta previa, I would need one). I am gaining weight nicely (which is code for, I have put on quite a few pounds). My midwife said she isn't concerned though. I guess I did gain about 40 pounds with Anna, but I think I may go over that this time. I'm sure after the baby is born, you will see many posts about me trying to lose this weight, but right now I don't really care.
As far as how I am feeling, well, I would be lying to say FANTASTIC, but I am really feeling pretty good. There are the minor things like heartburn, getting up to go to the bathroom, and of course the terrible sciatica pain (shooting through my butt), but they come and go, and I consider myself very lucky to have these be the only "issues."
So, I alluded to possibly going into labor early. That is because with Anna I was 2 weeks early and dilated to 4cm at 35 weeks (maybe sooner). My midwife is a little concerned that this could happen again and since my labor was pretty quick for my first baby (3 1/2 hours), she wants to be prepared. At my last appointment she did a test to check for preterm labor. Apparently it can predict if labor is likely in the next two weeks. Thankfully, it was negative. I am guessing she may do it again in a couple weeks, and hopefully it will be the same. I would like to go a little early- before the 1st of the year would be great. My due date is Jan 3rd. My mom's birthday is Dec 28th, so I think she wants him to come them, but my in-laws are leaving town then, so I think they are hoping for the 27th or before. I guess, we'll see.
That about sums it up. Here is my least favorite part- the picture. I already feel and look so big, but I guess I might actually like this picture in about 5-6 more weeks when I am even bigger and feel uglier.
By the way, the picture on the top of the page is from the 20 week ultrasound. She only took a few pictures at this one because they were mainly concerned with the placenta, but I didn't think that was all that cute.
