So this is probably one of the most randomest (is that a word) posts, but I was thinking the other day as I was card shopping about how much I hate card shopping. There are so many reasons. One- they are so expensive. I will say, many places now have 99 cent cards, but they are so plain and don't say much. However, that is usually what I buy. I mean, really, $3.49 for a piece of paper with some words? I would rather spend more on the gift. Reason two- if you do decide to spend the money and get a nice card, then you end of spending 2 hours in that aisle (ok, maybe exaggerating a little). But, you stand there reading each one, critiquing every word or phrase, trying to find just the right saying. Then, if you are me, when you find the card you want, there are no envelopes left. How does that happen? Do they not put enough envelopes for the number of cards? Does somebody take 2 envelopes incase they mess up writing the address on one? I used to send cards for everyone in my and Todd's family's birthdays, anniversaries, etc. And before I had kids, I even sent them to many friends. Well, I ended up forgoing the friends (sorry) and then I dropped the anniversaries for the family, and lately I am just trying to remember the birthdays. I do try to send a facebook message or text though.
Tell me what you think. Can you relate to this post, or was it the most randomest or boringest post? Do you still send cards the old fashion way?

Yes! I relate for sure. I recently informed my mom that I don't need cards and that I would prefer to just have an extra $3-$5 gift card for coffee. She did that this last birthday and wrote me a note on a piece of scratch paper. I enjoyed my Starbucks so much more than a piece of paper!
