Simon Mister

We don't really have a great nickname for Simon, but I often hear Anna saying things like, "Simon Mister" or "Simon Buddy." It really is cute to hear her talk to him, look out for him (she is so good about not having small things around that he can get, and just playing with him. She is a great big sister!

On the 10th, Simon turned 9 months. We just had his doctor appointment last week, so that is why I waited to post this.

Our handsome little boy is actually a very tall boy- 30in which is about the 90 percentile. Surprisingly, he is only 20# which is the 37th percentile. His round chubby cheeks and his budgy belly and legs would never make you think he is that low on the charts. However, the doctor is not concerned. He likes to eat and does pretty well. Some of his favorites are shredded cheese, cheerios, yogurt, and toast. It is fun to watch him pick those things up- not so fun to be constantly cleaning the highchair and floor when he misses : ) The only real food he is not a big fan of is bananas. And, I keep waiting for a tooth to pop through. Thats right- he doesn't have any yet!

He is also very mobile and active right now. He can crawl across the room in no time especially if he sees some cords. He has also gone up the one step from our family room to kitchen (he has come close to going down it as well- head first). He will try to pull himself up to standing when you are holding his hands, but so far he hasn't done it in the crib or on furniture.

Simon also enjoys hearing himself "talk" which is often more of a scream. Todd thinks he said Dadda while looking at him the other day, but I'm not so sure : ) He can clap though.

He is still as smiley as can be, and we love this little boy!
